Psalms 79:8 (KJV) O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.
True repentance is more than saying a few words. First of all, it is realizing that we are totally separated from God because of our sins. Secondly, asking forgiveness for those sins, and never wanting to do them again. Thirdly, it is asking Jesus to forgive those sins you never want to do again, and asking Him to come into your life, to lead, guide, and direct you.
(Read Isaiah 64:9)
