1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 (KJV) (13) But I would not haveyou to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which areasleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. (14) For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
Paul is referring to believers who have died. We are not to sorrow for each other the same way the world does. We have hope they do not have, for they have no hope at all. We arelooking for the first resurrection, and eternal life. At death, the soul and spirit of the child of God goes back to God instantly, while the body returns to dust. At the rapture, Godwill replace the physical body with a glorified body. He will then unite that glorified body with the soul and spirit, thus making the believer whole.
