Paul is begging us to listen to what he has to say. All the promises we have been given, have nothing to do with what we have done, or what we deserve. It is all because of the mercy of God. The words “living sacrifice” used here is referring to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The only way we can offer this “living sacrifice”, is to keep our faith in Jesus and His sacrifice on Calvary. This then gives the Holy Ghost the ability to work in our lives. This makes our bodies, the temple of God, holy and acceptable to God. In fact, that is all that God will accept. This is our reasonable service. If we try any other way, it will not be acceptable to God.
